I need a scope for ruger mini 30.?

I'm pretty good with guns but I know nothing about scopes. I'm looking for something that would be good for deer hunting. I know the effective range of the round is about 900 feet. What are your thoughts? Any information you can think about; power, range of the scope, type of optics, etc.
